This year Mother's Day will be a bit more extraverted than the past couple of mother's days had been during the pandemic.
We can expect restaurants to be opening for special brunches and events that had been on lockdown opening up for this special spring celebration of women.
Being a mom can be overwhelming, exhilarating, exhausting and without a doubt one of the best and hardest jobs.
It means sleepless nights, selfless decisions, ridiculously deep laughs, constant worry, happy tears, sad tears, feeling proud and amazed or shocked and questionably appalled.
It means wearing your heart on your sleeve and allowing little unique imprints of you to grow and flourish, and then it means setting those little imprints out into this big world to make their own way while you cross your fingers and hope they spread their wings and fly.
It means having faith in love, trusting that somehow everything will all work out in the end and that you will somehow find a way to have strength to be strong for someone else.
So what about Mother’s Day? Are you looking forward to celebrating it this year?
Are you celebrating a special mom or are the you the special mom being celebrated?
Here are a few fun facts:
It is celebrated in over 152 countries worldwide. Mother’s Day falls annually on the fourth Sunday of Lent because it was originally a time during Lent when people returned to their mother church for a special service, not a celebration of mothers.
The Mother’s Day we know today has been a staple on the UK calendar since the 1950’s.
The most common gifts for moms are breakfast in bed, flowers, candy, wine, brunch, dinner and if she’s lucky … jewelry!
At Lil-Jane we think a bit outside of the box...
